More Than Light

From work to wonder
Displays of summer flowers
Winter ice and snow
Gatherer of random thoughts

Stale air fresh
Stealing conversations
Hasty, quick yells
Gatherer of memories

Square or rectangle
Escape to the outside
A home "must have"
Gatherer of the light

--a kitchen window

  1. My kitchen window is my haven and retreat. I loved your poem.

  2. I love this! I have lived in some apartments where I didn't have a kitchen window (how could anyone build a kitchen without a window!)... I agree with you it's a home "must have"- but I didn't guess it before I got to the last verse of your poem!

  3. I can picture you at the window, gathering random thoughts and memories in the warming light. Very nice Tam!

  4. "Gatherer of random thoughts" succinct and true! Love that line especially. :)

  5. Beautifully captured scenes, Tam. You can see now why I shared my new 'views'. I look and look. And-find Raschka's The Hello Goodbye Window, a picture book (Caldecott) that's just great. Love those 'hasty, quick yells'.
